    Description

Presented is a large sterling silver water pitcher, by Theodore B. Starr of New York. This piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The pitcher is done in a simple, classical style, with scrolled foliate decoration around the rim. The handle is done in the form of opposing C-scrolls, with a leaf form thumbpiece. The pitcher has a capacity of 6 pints (96 fluid ounces/2.8 liters). The pitcher is monogrammed on the side with EDS in overlapping script. The pitcher is polished to a bright high finish, guaranteed to make an impression as a part of any table setting or display.
This piece is in great overall condition. There have likely been a couple of small dents professionally removed from around the widest part, but this is extremely hard to notice from the exterior. There are no splits, no leaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped 'sterling' and with the mark for Theodore B. Starr, as well as New York, 2830, and the capacity, 6 pints.
The pitcher stands about 9 5/8 inches tall at the highest point of the handle.
The pitcher weighs 1141 grams or 40.2 regular ounces.
